Reduction In CAP Payments Could See Drop In Production

It’s claimed taking CAP payments out of farmers’ pockets will result in a loss of production.

The European Commission has published a paper today to start a debate on where funding should be reduced to make savings once the UK leaves the EU.

It’s expected to leave a shortfall of 10-12 billion euro in the purse – and it’s feared the Common Agricultural Policy payments, which eat up 40 percent of the EU’s budget, could be hit.
