Rape Crisis MidWest Welcomes ‘SAVI 2’ Report Into Sexual Violence

Rape Crisis MidWest says the first report into sexual abuse and violence in Ireland to be carried out in almost 17 years will reach thousands of silent victims.

The Justice Minister received cabinet backing for what’s been dubbed ‘SAVI 2’ in the Dáil last evening, giving the green light for the five-year study.

The updated report will replace the one published in 2002 but it will be 2024 before the results are available, as they prepare to interview 5,000 victims of sexual attacks.
