Rape Crisis Midwest is assuring people that there is no higher risk of sexual violence at this time of year.

It follows reports in recent days of sexual assaults on women attending their Christmas parties.

That led to concern in some quarters about the potential of a spike in the number of these instances as the Christmas party season gets underway in earnest.
