Public Urged To Show Caution Near Water

Members of the public are being urged to exercise caution on the county’s waterways this Bank Holiday weekend.

Irish Water Safety are warning that despite recent good weather, water temperatures are still low with dangers of cold shock, hypothermia and drowning.

Figures show there are 133 drownings in Ireland every year, with an average of five occuring per fortnight.
