Protocol In Place To Help West Clare Group Water Schemes

Clare County Council is to put measures in place to ensure that water tankers are provided if needed, after water bursts in the Miltown Malbay area.

Chronic problems with the local supply have led to a host of issues over recent months, and in some cases supply has taken days to return after an outage.

However, the local authority says temporary water tankers will be provided to supply customers of group water schemes within 36 hours of an outage occurring.

Fianna Fáil Councillor Shane Talty, who brought the suggestion forward, says that with the Council working in conjunction with Irish Water on the matter, the situation should be eased for people in the area.
