Protest At Dáil Over Post Office Closures To Proceed

A demonstration will be held outside of the Dáil later this month in a bid to protect rural post offices.

Independent postmaster Tom O’Callaghan was among a number of people present at an Oireachtas committee meeting yesterday, where the controversial closure of 159 branches nationwide was discussed.

Six of those are in Clare and now, in two weeks time, a march on the Dáil will take place to express anger at the situation.
