Progress On Efforts To Deal With Flooding On Ballycar Rail Line

A solution to flooding on the Limerick to Galway rail line at Ballycar appears to be one step closer.

After a meeting with the Oireachtas Committee on Rural and Community Development, Clare County Council, Iarnród Éireann and the OPW have signed a letter to commit to a joint programme of action to resolve the problem of flooding that has halted trains on a number of occasions in recent years.

Consultants have also been appointed to carry out a feasibility study on possible solutions.
