Shannon Airport has become the first Irish winner of a prestigious European award.
Clare's International Airport has scooped what it described as its greatest industry accolade yet, by winning the overall Airport Achievement Award for 2014/2015 from the European Regions Airline Association

Previous winners of the award include London City, Budapest and Munich Airports and Shannon has been honoured after its new independent structure hlped halt a five-year decline in passenger numbers.
Ten days ago, Shannon also won a prestigious marketing accolade at the World Routes Awards in Chicago.
