‘Positive Approach’ Needed In Finding Solution To Ballycar Flooding

It’s claimed a ‘positive approach’ is needed in seeking a solution to persistent flooding on the Ennis-Limerick rail line.

An Oireachtas committee yesterday set a target of six months for a group of state agencies to come up with a solution to the ongoing flooding issues at Ballycar near Newmarket-on-Fergus.

The two-mile stretch of track there has been regularly submerged in water in recent years, which has lead to long term closures, while homes in the surrounding areas have also been affected.
