Poll Shows Little Change In Public Opinion After Papal Visit

Over half of the country thinks Pope Francis didn’t go far enough to address clerical abuse while in Ireland.

An Ipsos MRBI poll carried out for the Irish Times reveals that 80 per cent of people say their opinion of the church hasn’t changed since the Papal visit.

Around 400,000 people are said to have seen the Pontiff at various public events held in Dublin and in Knock over the two day visit, including thousands from Clare.
