Votegate To Go Before Oireachtas Ethics Committee

The so-called “Votegate” scandal is to go before the Oireachtas Ethics Committee this lunchtime.

The controversy, which emerged when votes were cast in Clare TD Timmy Dooley’s name when he wasn’t in the Dáil chamber, has seen Fianna Fáil in hot water in recent weeks.

It’s been blamed in part for the drop of 4% in support for the party in the latest polls, while it’s adding to rumours that a General Election will be called by the Taoiseach while faith in Fianna Fáil is down.
