Clare’s Junior Minister insists a prudent approach to this year’s budget is a necessary move, given the current Brexit uncertainty.

Finance Minister Paschal Donohoe has unveiled the government’s Summer Economic Statement, which outlined two potential budgets for October, preparing for each Brexit scenario.

The best case for Ireland sees €700 million for the government to start new projects and tax cuts of €600 million, all of which could be put on the long finger should the UK crash out of Europe.
