Howard Elected As New Clare Mayor

The new Mayor of Clare says it’s vital that the people of Clare look to support each other as the county and country seeks to emerge from the COVID-19 pandemic.

Ennis Fine Gael Councillor Mary Howard said she fulfilled a “lifelong dream” when she was elected into the position last evening, as she replaced Fianna Fáil’s Clare Colleran Molloy as Clare’s first citizen.

Whitegate Fine Gael representative Pat Burke was elected as Deputy Mayor – the first time both roles have been held by Fine Gael members.

Councillor Howard says the county, and Council, will need help to emerge from the COVID crisis and says that’s not just in a financial sense
