Harty Calls For Rural Resettlement To Be Revisited To Address Housing Crisis

Clare’s Independent TD is calling for the rural resettlement scheme to be restarted to help address the social housing crisis.

Before it closed in 2017 amid financial difficulties, the Kilbaha-based Rural Resettlement Ireland housing charity rehoused up to 800 families to the west from the likes of Dublin.

With thousands awaiting social housing in major towns and cities nationwide, Dr Michael Harty wants to see this type of scheme looked at once again.
