Clare Foundation Claims Politicians Failed To Act On Mental Health Crisis

The founder of a Clare-based support organisation is accusing politicians of failing to act on the mental health crisis facing young people in this country.

Elevate, which funds campaigns and events to support young people with mental health issues, is calling on those running for the Dáil to take action, if elected.

As of August 2019, 206 children in Clare were waiting for child psychology appointments, 84 of them waiting for over a year, while Clare had the second-highest suicide rate nationally in 2016.
