Clare’s Junior Minister insists his fellow Clare Fine Gael TD was wrong to criticism him over the failure to secure a buyer for the Roche plant in Clarecastle.
Pat Breen came under fire from Clare TD Joe Carey, who expressed disappointment in Deputy Breen and the government’s efforts to find a new firm to invest in the site.
Swiss Pharma giant Roche announced it was to pull out of Clare in 2015 and two potential buyers fell through; the plant was later taken off the market with plans for remediation.
