Garda Commissioner Issues Reassurances On Policing In Clare Under New Operational Model

The Garda Commissioner has moved to reassure the people of Clare that changes to the county’s Garda division won’t impact on the level of policing here.

Drew Harris was tackled about the issue by Clare’s Fine Gael Senator Martin Conway during a discussion in the Oireachtas Justice Committee.

Changes to the Garda operational model, which are due to take hold from January, will see this county and Tipperary merge as one division, within the Southern Garda Region which includes Limerick, Kerry and parts of Cork.
