Concern Proposed New Policing Model Will Pull Gardaí Out Of Rural Clare

It’s feared an amalgamation of Clare’s policing into a new super division could pull Gardaí out of rural areas and into the cities.

The restructuring of the force is reportedly part of a proposed new model which would see the number of Garda Divisions cut from 28 to 19 and the reduction of Garda Regions from 6 six to 4.

It would see the Clare and Tipperary division merged as part of the greater Southern Region with Limerick, Kerry, Cork West and North and Cork City.
