Clare Gardaí Mount Checkpoints For National Slow Down Day

Clare Gardaí are warning drivers to be on their best behaviour today as they mount extra checkpoints for National Slow Down Day.

The road safety initiative kicked into action at 7am and will run until the same time tomorrow; and sees Gardaí mount over 1,000 checkpoints nationwide.

There have already been more road deaths this year than in 2018 and Gardaí are advising motorists to adjust their speed based on the weather and road conditions to ensure their safety.
