Parents Of Pupils At East Clare School Call On Govt To Invest Now In Children’s Future

Parents of pupils at an East Clare school are calling on the Government to invest now in their children’s future, rather than paying the price in years to come.

Clooney National School is at risk of losing one of its teachers, as there were only 73 pupils enrolled at the school in September; six shy of the threshold to retain a fourth teacher under the Department of Education’s Enrolment Schedule for 2021/22.

The school is currently exploring the appeals process and parents are now coming together to highlight their concern over the impact losing a teacher could have on their children’s education.
