Outbreak Of Winter Vomiting Bug At UHL

A number of beds have been closed at University Hospital Limerick due to an outbreak of the winter vomiting bug.

The Norovirus has been discovered at Dooradoyle, leading to additional pressures at the Emergency Department.

The hospital says it has also admitted a number of very sick people in recent days which was described as “very busy” by officials last night.

Patients have been encouraged to go to Local Injuries Unit in Ennis, Nenagh or St. John’s, or their GP or GP out of hours service where possible.
