One Dead And Two Others Injured In West Clare Road Crash

A young man has died, and two other people have been injured, following a road crash in West Clare in the early hours of this morning.

Emergency services were alerted to the single car collision, near Miltown Malbay, at around 4.15am.

The alarm was raised shortly before half past four this morning, after a car left the road and strucj a bridge at Caherogan on the R464 Miltown to Connolly Road.

Units from Clare County Fire Service, Gardaí and Ambulance were called to the scene.

A 30-year-old man, who was a passenger in the car, has lost his life, in the crash, while the 28-year-old male driver and a 26-year-old female passenger have suffered injuries – they’ve been taken to University Hospital Limerick for treatment.

The road has been closed to facilitate a forensic examination and will remain closed for a number of hours.
