A training exercise testing the response capabilities of Clare County Council and other organisations to a major oil spill will be held today.
The simulated event will centre on a major spillage of crude oil approximately 220km off the south west coast of Ireland, with oil coming ashore at Spanish Point.
The event will not be open to the public but public access to the beach will be maintained during the exercise.
