Oesophageal Cancer Numbers Double In Clare

The number of people suffering from Oesophageal cancer has almost doubled in Clare.

As the 16th annual Lollipop day approaches, the Oesophageal Cancer Fund is warning that the rate of detection remains among the highest in Europe.

Figures from the National Cancer Registry also shows a 25 per cent increase in cases of the disease in this country over the last two decades, with incidence in men in particular continuing to rise.
