Number Of Covid Patients At UHL Falls As Trolley Numbers Rise

The number of COVID patients at University Hospital Limerick has fallen over the past 24 hours.

33 patients are being treated for the virus there this morning, with 5 people in the intensive care unit.

It comes amid rising trolley numbers at the Dooradoyle facility today.

The latest figures from the Irish Nurses and Midwives Organisation show 66 patients were waiting for beds there this morning, 38 of those in the emergency department.

The overall figure is more than double that of the next busiest facility.
