Northern Powersharing Agreement Needed To Prevent Further Westminister Intervention

Britain’s Northern Ireland Secretary James Brokenshire has warned Stormont is on a “glide path” towards further intervention from Westminster if a political deal is not found.

He says that if Sinn Fein and the DUP can’t agree on a powersharing arrangement in the next few weeks, more decision-making power could be assumed by the British government.

Mr Brokenshire believes there are pressing matters such as a budget which need to be sorted out.
