North Clare Group May Visit Ex-Pat Pensioner

A pensioner, whose emotional letter seeking contact from people who knew him while he lived in North Clare, is said to be unable to take up an offer to be flown home.home.

80 year-old Jim Logan, originally from Lahinch, moved to London as a 16 year old in the 1950s, and in a letter to The Clare Champion, he asked if anyone still remembered him, more than 60 years after he left.

The letter has since been viewed more than 300 thousand times on social media, prompting an offer by Lahinch hotelier Michael Vaughan,  to fund a trip home.
