No Resolution In Water Services Strike Talks Until September

Crunch talks aimed at averting a strike within water services in Clare County Council are expected to continue until next month.

An outcome was expected today from talks between the local authority and SIPTU, though that has now been pushed back until the first week of September.

The dispute erupted after the local authority sought to separate water and wastewater services and staff believe this would result in staff movement and changes in work practices.
