No Funding Allocated To UL Hospitals Group To Tackle Superbug Spread

It’s emerged that the UL Hospitals Group has received no allocation to date from the €20 million fund allocated to tackle the spread of the superbug CPE.

Health Minister Simon Harris announced the funding in January, as a standalone fund, which would see the €20 million allocated to the health service annually for three years.

A number of outbreaks of the potentially deadly CPE have been recorded at University Hospital Limerick in recent months and the UL Hospitals Group says surveillance is ongoing to monitor any such incidents.
