No Construction On New UHL Block Until At least 2021

It looks like it will be at least four more years until a much-needed expansion of bed capacity at University Hospital Limerick is completed.

While previous reports have indicated that the new 96-bed unit at University Hospital Limerick will open in 2021, Junior Health Minister Finian McGrath now says construction is unlikely to begin before that date.

A shortage of bed capacity has been identified as a key cause of the ongoing pressures on local hospital services.
