New Refurbished Shannon Fire Station to Open

Rescue services in Shannon will receive a boost this afternoon with the official opening of the town’s newly refurbished fire station.

Over 1.2 million euro was pumped into the extension and upgrade works at the premises which now boasts three extra fire station bays, new crew quarters, and the development of the drill yard.

Over 1.2 million euro was pumped into the extension and upgrade works at the premises which now boasts three extra fire station bays, new crew quarters, and the development of the drill yard.

The station’s lecture rooms, office, and Drying and Breathing Apparatus Equipment rooms have also been upgraded.

Clare’s Chief Fire Officer Adrian Kelly says the improvement works helps the emergency crew maintain a quality fire service for Shannon and the surrounding areas
