New poll reveals Fukushima disaster reinforces Irish distrust of nuclear energy

 

 

The Fukushima disaster has reinforced Ireland’s distrust of nuclear energy, according to a new poll out today.

The Red C study shows that 67 per cent of Irish people are now opposed to nuclear, compared to 61 per cent before the events in Japan.

Ireland’s attitude is significantly more negative than in other countries around the world – on average, 49 per cent of the global population remain in favour of nuclear energy.
