“New Figures Showing Gender Divide In Midwest Described As Unsurprising”

New figures showing women in the MidWest are still battling a gender divide when it comes to employment have been described as “unsurprising” by the Clare Women’s Network.

Figures compiled by the CSO, which examine over 180,000 households in Clare, Limerick and Tipperary, and the people living in them, show that more people here are finding work.

But, there are more women living in jobless households than men and the number of women in jobless homes has risen in each of the past two years, even though it’s fallen generally and for men.
