A new COVID-19 testing facility is to open on the outskirts of Ennis.
It will replace the existing facility located at Cusack Park, as Clare FM’s Rebecca O’Sullivan reports.
The HSE has confirmed that the new testing centre will be a drive-thru facility, located in Ballymaley.
It’s expected to open within a fortnight, replacing the existing centre at Cusack Park in the centre of Ennis.
The move is being made because largely outdoor facility at the GAA grounds is no longer deemed suitable, given the typical colder weather conditions in store this winter.
A similar move will be made in Limerick as well, with another new facility opening there.
The HSE has stressed its thanks to the GAA for providing the use of their grounds as test centres over recent months
