New County Cathaoirleach Wants Title To Revert To Mayor Of Clare

The newly appointed Cathaoirleach of Clare County Council wants to see the title of his office revert to Mayor of Clare.

Fianna Fáil’s Tom McNamara, from Kilmaley, was named as the successor to Bill Chambers as Clare’s First Citizen in the council’s AGM yesterday.

Whitegate Fine Gael Councillor Pat Burke will serve alongside him as Leas-Cathaoirleach for the next 12 months.
