A kite surfer reported missing off the coast of Clare has been found safe and well.
Emergency services were alerted at around 5 o’clock yesterday evening, after a man got into difficulty some distance off shore from Lahinch.
The Shannon-based Irish Coastguard helicopter, Rescue 115 was dispatched to the scene along with the volunteer Doolin unit of the Coast Guard.

The surfer was located by the helicopter, with the crew monitoring him while he made it safely ashore. The search was stood down after the man was assessed by a paramedic and found to be unharmed.
