Minor Accidents And Dangerous Conditions After Wintry Showers

Clare Gardaí have urged drivers to take care on the county's roads this morning.

Gritters were out in force after a night of wintry showers, while conditions were particularly bad in parts of North and West Clare with Gardaí urging care between Lisdoonvarna and Corkscrew Hill and also in Doonbeg, where there were a couple of minor accidents.

Listeners reported issues between Tubber and Crusheen, between Whitegate and Portumna and on one short portion of the M18 motorway between Crusheen and Gort.

It has been very dangerous too, between Ennis and Ennistymon; hail is the main problem in West Clare, while in Ennis and Shannon there is a lot of slush on roads.

There have been wintry showers in the Gort area throughout the night, and there Gardaí warn that back roads in particular are likely to be dangerous.
