Irish Water says it hopes to have water supply fully restored to all properties in the Miltown Malbay area later this afternoon.
Homes and businesses there have been experiencing a loss of supply today, however, the utility has now completed repairs.

In a statement, Irish Water insists the ain population centres of Miltown Malbay and Spanish Point had minimum interruption to supply as Clare County Council were able to supply these areas from neighbouring supplies.
However, they say that as a result of the burst, some houses on higher ground may be without water until the system is fully recharged.
