MidWest Unemployment Levels Halve In Two Years

The level of unemployment in the Mid-West has halved in the past two years.

The latest Labour Force Survey from the CSO shows there were 212,000 working in Clare, Limerick and Tipperary in the first quarter of this year, 11,000 more than the same period in 2016.

There were 24,000 people unemployed between January and March 2016 and that number has fallen to 11,400 at the beginning of 2018.

There has also been a decrease of 2,000 in the the labour force in the region over the two years.
