Midwest Simon Warns Recession Could Lead To Another Wave Of Homelessness

Midwest Simon is warning that homelessness could spiral out of control once again, if the Government fails to implement a prevention strategy.

The Simon communities have lauched a petition today calling for measures to be put in place to prevent people from becoming homeless, as well as protections for renters and for a significant increase in the construction of one and two-bed housing units.

It comes as the latest figures from the Department of Housing show the level of homelessness in Clare and Limerick has dropped by 10% over the past year.
