Mid-West Unemployment Figures Fall In November

The number of people signing on in the Midwest has fallen slightly in the past month.

The seasonally adjusted Live Register total decreased by 213 last month, a drop of just over 1% since October and a 15% reduction on the same period in 2017.

That brings the number of people in receipt of Jobseekers Benefit and Allowance payments in Clare, Limerick and Tipperary to 20,515.

It’s roughly in line with national figures, which according to the CSO represent the lowest seasonally adjusted figure recorded since since May 2008.
