An extra 426 thousand extra bed nights were created in the Shannon Region in 2008 through 35 major tourism deals co-ordinated by Shannon Development.
Its annual report out today reveal this boosted visitor spending by over 43 million euro during the twelve months.
The figures also show that more jobs were created than lost but that there was a marked difference in the region’s fortune’s between from the start to the latter half of the year.
