McNamara Calls For Fast Track Of National Broadband Plan In Clare

Clare’s Independent TD is calling for the fast tracking of the National Broadband Plan in early 2021.

In Clare, only homes in some of the communities closest to Limerick City are scheduled for connection early next year.

A number of broadband access points are being rolled out elsewhere while a number of schools – including in Ennistymon and Stonehall – have already been connected by National Broadband Ireland, with more of those to come online over the coming years.

NBI plans for over 90% of premises in the State to have access to high speed broadband by 2024, but Scariff-based Deputy Michael McNamara says there are other areas in the county that need to be connected quickly.
