McInerney Calls For ‘Balance’ On FF Election Ticket

A West Clare Fianna Fáil Dáil hopeful says she can bring balance to the party’s election ticket.

Doonbeg businesswoman Rita McInerney will vie against John Hillery for the ‘West Clare spot’ on the party’s ticket, after party HQ dictated that there be a geographic split in its two-candidate strategy.

Sitting TD Timmy Dooley will be the other candidate after Councillor Cathal Crowe withdrew from the race, expressing anger at the decision.
