Marts “May Not Survive” If Insurance Skyrockets

It’s feared Clare’s marts may not survive if insurance costs skyrocket.

The Oireachtas Finance Committee has heard renewed calls for an intervention in the insurance industry to prevent premiums from rising any more.

The increasing cost of insurance across the board has led to repeated calls for regulation to be brought in to prevent it continuing and has led to concern that the likes of charities, the GAA, festivals and marts are under threat.
