Martin To Address Spinraza Concerns

The Taoiseach says he will examine why a number of children are still waiting to gain access to a pioneering treatment for a degenerative condition.

The Dáil has heard that there are 12 children in Ireland who are still waiting to access the drug Spinraza, which is to treat Spinal Muscular Atrophy.

Among those still waiting is 12-year-old Jordan Perez from Sixmilebridge, whose mother Sinead this week told Clare FM that her son’s condition has worsened over the past year.
