Man Due In Court In Connection With Death Of 3-Year-Old Ennistymon Girl

A man is due to appear in court in Co Clare today charged in connection with a road crash in March that claimed the life of a three year old girl.

Estlin Luna Wall from Ennistymon, Co Clare was travelling to a creche in Inagh with her dad Vincent when two cars collided at Ballyea South on the main Ennistymon to Ennis road. The crash happened at around 9am on March 15th.

The young girl was initially airlifted to University Hospital Limerick for treatment but was later transferred by helicopter to a specialist unit at Temple Street Children’s University Hospital in Dublin where she lost her fight for life three days later.

Estlin’s father Vincent suffered a serious head injuries in the collision. The driver of the second car was also injured but less seriously.

As part of the garda investigation into the collision, a truck was later seized for technical examination. It’s now understood that the driver of that truck, who had been interviewed as part of the investigation, will face a charge of dangerous driving causing death.

The man is due before Ennis District Court this morning.
