Man Charged With December Murder

A 25 year old man has been charged with the murder of Noel Kirwan in Dublin last year.

Jason Keating of Lower Main St, Rush, appeared at Blanchardstown District Court this morning.

Noel Kirwan was shot dead in the driveway of his home St Ronan’s Drive in Clondalkin, Dublin on December 22nd last year.

He was shot several times while sitting in the drivers seat of a car.

A woman sitting in the passenger seat escaped unharmed.

A friend of Gerry Hutch, Kirwan’s murder has been linked to the ongoing Kinahan / Hutch gang feud in Dublin.

This morning, 25-year-old Jason Keating appeared in Blanchardstown District Court charged with the murder.

He arrived in court by armed escort.

Mr Keating listened as Sergeant Damien Gannon told the judge the details of the past few days.

Mr Keating was arrested late at night on May 6th, and charged with murder yesterday.

He made no reply when the charge was read to him.

A woman also arrested in connection to the case has been released without charge.

The presiding judge said it was a very serious charge, before remanding Mr Keating in custody to appear before Cloverhill District Court on Friday.
