A man has been arrested following the mugging of an elderly man at an ATM in West Clare.
Gardaí are appealing for witnesses following the incident in Kilrush yesterday evening.

The man in his 70’s was withdrawing money from the Bank Of Ireland ATM on Toler Street in Kilrush shortly before 5 o’clock yesterday evening, when he was set upon by another man.
Emergency services were alerted and a man in his twenties was arrested in the area following the incident.
He’s being questioned at Kilrush Garda Station under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act, where he can be held for up to 24 hours.
Gardaí are appealing to anyone in the area at the time who may have witnessed the incident to contact them on 065 908 0550.
