Man Arrested In Connection With Machete Attack Released Without Charge

A man has been questioned by Gardaí in connection with a machete attack outside a Clare primary school.

The incident occurred on Tuesday of this week – the man has since been released without charge.

It’s understood a man struck a car with the heavy knife three times, outside Clarecastle National School, shortly after 3 o’clock on Tuesday afternoon.

Gardaí began an investigation, and yesterday, a man in his twenties from the Ennis area was arrested.

He was detained at Ennis Garda Station under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act.

He has since been released without charge and a file is being sent to the DPP.
